BBC Backstage plugin for Linux version

Hi!
I am running tvbrowser on my Linux box and it works fine. It worked fine. Until now. I tried to install the BBC Backstage plugin in order get the BBC Radio 3 program.
The installation HowTo shows only the Windows procedure (there a channel group must be activated - which does not exist in the Linux version).
Trying to update the channel list hangs on getting the BBC data.
Any ideas how to get that working? TIA!
